Presentation of Tavignanu Trail
Discover the secrets of the Tavignanu Valley
The 33km Tavignanu Trail promises an intense experience that plunges you into the raw beauty of the island. The start is marked by the energy of the city, but the race quickly transitions to technical trails and breathtaking landscapes.
Right after the start, a demanding 6,2km 1,400m climb takes you up for a birdseye view of the Tavignanu valley and the Monte Rotondo mountain range, which peaks at 2,622m. Along the route, you’ll pass beauty spots such as the Scandulaghju arch, the crystal-clear Tavignanu River, and the historic Padule sheepfolds rooted in the island’s pastoral heritage.
The Bocca Canaglia pass at 1,790m is a key moment of the race, and is followed by a technical descent to the Sega refuge at 1,100m. Shaded paths, refreshing waterfalls and rolling sections — such as the forest trail after the Cogna sheepfolds — provide the perfect balance between effort and contemplation.
This 33km trail with 2,400m of elevation gain, is a condensed experience of authentic Corsica, combining technical challenges and natural splendour. The finish in Corte will feel triumphant as you pass through the old town and its citadel to bring your adventure to a close.
