Starting in the historic town of Corte, nestled in the heart of the Restonica gorges, you'll traverse uniquely beautiful countryside that includes crystal-clear rivers winding through deep valleys, hilltop villages steeped in history, ancient pine forests, and the glacial lakes Capitellu and Melu. This wild and technical terrain defines the distinctive nature of the event.

With four race formats – 17km, 33km, 69km and 110km – the Restonica Trail caters to newcomers seeking adventure as well as seasoned ultra-runners ready for an ultimate challenge. Each route embodies the spirit of Corsica: a land of contrasts, resilience and raw beauty.

Dedicated and passionate Corsican organisers

Every trail, pass, and panorama of the Restonica Trail by UTMB is thoughtfully curated by the Restonica Trail Association — a local committee driven by a passion for showcasing Corsica and its unique landscapes. For over 15 years, this devoted team of around 15 active members has worked tirelessly to deliver a one-of-a-kind sporting adventure in the heart of the Corsican mountains.

This incredible journey would not be possible without the invaluable support of nearly 300 volunteers, the true backbone of the event. These volunteers play essential roles, including welcoming participants, ensuring the safety of the trails, manning refreshment stations, and providing logistical support. Their energy and generosity creates the warm and friendly atmosphere that forms the very essence of the Restonica Trail by UTMB.

Beyond the sporting challenge, the organisers are deeply committed to promoting Corsica’s natural and cultural heritage. In partnership with local stakeholders, the Restonica Trail by UTMB highlights the abundance and unique nature of this extraordinary region.
